The Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) and/or Certified Administrative Professional-Organizational Management (CAP-OM) ratings are earned through successful completion of the CAP and/or CAP-OM exam. To earn the CAP and/or CAP rating, clerical employees study a wide variety of material and expand their knowledge in the field of office administration. This training equips them to effectively handle a broader array of problems, to initiate charge, and to develop innovative ideas.
The CAP and CAP-OM exams are sponsored by the International Association of Administrative Professionals(IAAP). Registration information can be obtained through the IAAP organization Web site: http://www.iaap-hq.org/
The CAP and CAP-OM exams are administered in March and September of each year. Persons receiving their CAP/CAP-OM credentials are eligible for credit by examination at Southeast Missouri State University.
