Car pooling to campus is being encouraged through the availability of special parking decals and dedicated parking spaces available only to members of the campus community that share a ride to the University. Those interested in the car pool program can contact Beth Glaus (baglaus@semo.edu 651-2215) in Public Safety to learn more about car pool parking.

A campus-wide bicycle plan is under development by Dr. Mark Langenfeld (mlangenfeld@semo.edu 651-2461). The purpose is to improve cyclability and increase the use of bicycle transportation by members of the University community. Dr. Langenfeld is also working with the City of Cape Girardeau on the "Ride the City" program. This is an integrated effort by "town and gown" to improve bicycle paths, lanes, and parking throughout the city and campus.
