Social Studies Education

Overview

Students completing the Bachelor of Science in Social Studies Education program at Southeast Missouri State University receive grades 9-12 teaching certification and are trained to teach social studies content courses including history, geography, civics, and economics.

  • Take courses from award-winning faculty in both the College of Liberal Arts and the College of Education
  • Experience multiple field placements and work with students with a variety of learning styles
  • Develop skills essential to successful high school teaching
  • Enjoy multiple opportunities for collaboration with local teachers and with other students in the SSED major
