The Academic Support Centers (ASCs)/TRIO Programs at Southeast are staffed by professionals certified in learning assistance, higher education theory, financial literacy, and leadership development. 

We support and prepare students for their launch into life and career as degreed professionals. 

The mission of the Centers is to enhance the academic achievement and educational attainment of all students. The departments and programs span the educational scope from pre-college to undergraduate and graduate programs. 

We assist students in navigating their collegiate journey, support their learning, and celebrate their successes.  

ASC executes our mission through academic assistance including tutorial services, Supplemental Instruction (SI), leadership development and opportunities, structured student employment, mentoring and coaching, internal and external scholarship support, and community outreach.

Educational Access Programs

The purpose of Educational Access Programs (EAP) is to enhance the quality of the educational experience for minority students, and all students in general, through programs, services, advocacy, and referral to appropriate resources.

TRIO/McNair Scholars Preliminary Application

If you are a junior or a non-graduating senior at Southeast Missouri State University and planning to attend graduate school, the TRIO/McNair Scholars Program may be of interest to you. Please complete the application for an initial assessment of your eligibility.

TRIO/Student Support Services Application

The TRIO/SSS program provides individual support and academic guidance to students who are first-generation college students, have demonstrated economic needs, or have a documented disability.

The purpose of the McNair Scholars Program is to encourage, support, and assist academically promising juniors and non-graduating seniors who have been historically underrepresented in various fields to pursue education.

The Student Support Services (SSS) program assists students who are underrepresented because of income, family educational background, disability, or other relevant factors.

College Success Seminars

College Success Seminars are sponsored by Academic Support Centers to provide skills and information beneficial to students striving to get the most out of their college experience.
