Ashley Bankston

ASHLEY BANKSTON

Current Student
Biology/Nursing
Florissant, Missouri

“As a women’s nurse practitioner, I want to be able to help young women understand the importance of taking care of their bodies and to uplift those who may deal with tragic life events. I believe that with my education, warm spirit, and high hopes I can make a positive change in the lives of young women.”

“The fact that I can further my education in an area that genuinely interests me while helping to better the well-being of others is mind-blowing.”

Ashley is already making a difference. In her spare time, Ashley volunteers with Junior Achievement and Big Brothers Big Sisters.

His good fortune began when Southeast became the first university in Missouri to offer a four-year program in cybersecurity. Wiedner chose this challenging field of study, and now his efforts are helping to keep the Internet a safer place for all of us.

Lynne Dozier

Lynne Dozier

English Teacher
Houston, Texas

“A professor who had allowed me to rewrite a poorly planned, sloppily researched, and carelessly revised assignment nudged me along the path toward a successful career.”

“It’s pretty incredible for an English professor to have such an impact on a student. I only had Dr. (John) Bierk for two classes but, by giving me a break, he showed me that you always need to give students a second chance and not assume that when they come into your classroom they know everything they should know. I was always in awe of him.”

Professors who care inspire the best in their students. Small gestures can go a long way toward creating a better future for students and the lives they touch.

Mrs. Dozier and her husband Don generously support the Southeast Center for Writing Excellence and Harrison College of Business scholarships.
