Time is a River... and Death is the Hand that Pulls Me Under, an installation of works by Kate Cooper, will be on view from Friday, May 2 through Friday, May 30 at Catapult Creative House.
Kate Cooper is a graduating BFA student at Southeast Missouri State University, with an emphasis in sculpture. She was born in Cape Girardeau and raised in rural Missouri. Her current work explores the relationships between landscape and the human experience, through the bonds, memories, and histories they share.
Time is a River is an exhibition of paintings, sculptures, and ceramics inspired by the poems and contemplations of the artist over the course of the last four years. Focusing on the beauty of the fleeting, this installation of works considers time as a continuum. Flowing, from the past into our present, and continuing beyond us, to a place we cannot follow.
An opening reception for this exhibition will take place on Friday, May 2 from 5-7 p.m. at Catapult Creative House.
All gallery exhibitions, events and talks are free and open to the public. For more information, please contact Catapult at catapultgalleries@semo.edu.
