Anemoia Futures, an exhibition of works by Terry Kolb Spyker, will be on view Friday April 4, through Friday April 25 in the main gallery at Catapult Creative House.

Terry Kolb Spyker is an artist and educator at the University of North Texas, where he serves as a Lecturer in the College of Visual Arts and Design Foundations Program. His creative practice combines traditional and post-digital printmaking techniques to critique societal constructs, focusing on themes of gender, whiteness, and symbolic violence. Passionate about fostering first-year students' growth in art and design, Terry also leads research into integrating AI tools into the creative process.

According to Spyker, “'Anemoia' is the longing for a time you never knew. 'Futures' suggests something still coming—something not yet here. Somewhere between these temporal poles sits this exhibition, a retrospective of my work that spans from undergrad through graduate school and into my current post-graduate practice. I had originally intended to create a new body of work for this show but found myself overwhelmed by memories of the past and distracted by fantasies (or fears) of the future. So instead, this exhibition became an opportunity to look back—not as nostalgia for what was, but as a speculative reflection on what might still be.”

An opening reception for Anemoia Futures will take place on Friday, April 4 from 5-7 p.m., with an artist’s talk at 5 p.m.

This exhibition is free and open to the public.
