Experience the exhilarating performances of The Conservatory of Theatre and Dance’s new dance performance “Winter Dance Collection”, at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 15-17 and 2 p.m. Feb. 18 in the Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus.

Featuring an original work by choreographer Kia Smith, “Winter Dance Collection” will showcase a variety of original works by student and faculty choreographers.

Kia Smith, a Chicago native, holds a B.F.A. in Dance from Western Michigan University and an M.F.A. from The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She has trained intensely under numerous highly acclaimed programs and was an attendant at the American Dance Festival in both 2008 and 2009. Kia is the founder, executive artistic director, and resident choreographer of the South Chicago Dance Theatre. Through her ambitious work both in and out of her company, she has been recognized and awarded by renowned institutes of dance across the country, and has numerous recent and upcoming projects, working with Chicago Repertory Ballet, Houston Contemporary Dance Company, and many more.

The dance concert will also feature choreography from four student choreographers, as well as a ballet piece from a faculty choreographer.
