Dear Applicant,

Thank you for your interest in the Resident Assistant Student Staff position at Southeast Missouri State University. We are pleased you want to be a leader on campus! The selection process for the Resident Assistant position is a selective process with many more applicants than open positions. Qualified applicants will be invited to participate in the interview process.

We are looking for the following criteria:

  • A minimum 2.65 cumulative GPA
  • Upperclass status (will have lived on campus for 2 full semesters prior to Fall 2019)
  • In good judicial standing with the University
  • Enrolled as a full-time student during Fall 2019 Semester
  • A willingness to accept significant responsibility
  • Personal qualities of maturity, initiative, motivation, creativity, enthusiasm, and integrity

The following are important dates for you to remember:

Applications available: Monday, December 3, 2018 at 9am
Applications due: Wednesday, January 23, 2019 by 9am *
Reference forms due: Wednesday, January 30, 2019 by 5pm *
Interview Sign-up: Via email link between Thursday, January 24-Monday, January 28, 2019 at 9am (Check your email, as no late sign-ups for interviews will be accepted)
Individual Interviews: Thursday, January 31, 2019-Wednesday, February 6, 2019
Notification of Invite to 2nd Stage of Interview Process: February 11, 2019

*No late applications or references will be accepted after these dates.

    • Please include the following in your resume and add it as an attachment under Part II of the application:
      • A listing of current and past employment
      • Any related leadership experience
      • Any group/organizational involvement
  • Questions
    • Please complete the questions which are listed in the attachment below. They need to be completed in a word document and uploaded in the correct space on the application.
    • RA application questions
  • Program Proposal
    •     Program proposal questions are asked under Part III of the application.
  • Current photo of yourself (to be used for the interview/selection process only)
    •    Please save photo in Microsoft Word and add as an attachment under Part II of the application.
  • Current RA Reference (If you are an off-campus applicant, three professional references are acceptable).

  • Greek Reference - from Chapter President (Greek Area Candidates Only)

*All References will be e-mailed their Reference Form by the RA Selection Committee upon application completion. E-mails will be sent from a Southeast email account, so please make sure to inform references that they may need to check their junk folders.
