The February 4, 2014 Academic Council meeting was cancelled due to inclement weather. However, based on deadlines for approvals, the following action items from the February 4th agenda were approved by electronic vote.
1. BS Medical Technology – Program Title Change to BS Medical Laboratory Science
Academic Council members were emailed on February 10, 2014 and asked to vote electronically for the proposed program title change from BS Medical Technology to BS Medical Laboratory Science. The proposal materials were attached to the email for reference. The rationale for the program title change was that the term “Medical Technology” is rarely used by professional in the field anymore, and Medical Laboratory Science more closely describes the job students in the major will fulfill. Item passed with a majority electronic vote
2. BS Technology Management: Construction Management and Design Option Curriculum
Academic Council members were emailed on February 11, 2014 and asked to vote electronically for the proposed curriculum changes to the BS Technology Management: Construction Management and Design Option. The proposal materials were attached to the email for reference. The changes would allow Construction Management and Design majors to take courses more aligned to their discipline. Item passed with a majority electronic vote.
