Before I came to work with SEMO’s University Marketing team, I worked as the photo editor at the Southeast Missourian news outlet in Cape Girardeau.

I’ve also worked as a visual journalist at The Jonesboro Sun in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and served as the photojournalism intern at The Tennessean, Deseret News, Dubois County Herald and The Dispatch-Argus. My experiences have included various staff and editor roles, including two semesters as photo and multimedia editor, at Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s student newspaper and news website, the Daily Egyptian.

Although my work for University Marketing involves a variety of photographic and visual-storytelling methods, I largely take a moments-based approach to my work. I place a strong emphasis on the importance of community storytelling believing chronicles of everyday life and regular people are of high value.

Outside of work, I enjoy experimenting with Polaroid and other film cameras, keeping up with the cinema world and hiking local trails.
