Hankyu Lee is a sound designer and engineer originally from Seoul, South Korea.
He was a resident sound designer and engineer at the Korea Performing Arts Center in Seoul, South Korea (10 years). Internationally, He has worked for Seoul International Performing Arts Festival (SPAF), Seoul Theatre Festival, Seoul Dance Festival and Daegu International Musical Festival.
His sound designs include Newsies, 42nd Street, Godspell, The Government Inspector, Hamlet Avatar, The Golden Dragon, Finding Family, Look at Me, Fuddy Meers, The Grave Faraway, Autumn Sonata, Parallel Universe, The Mystery of Mt. Samdo, It Isn't Over Yet, Mr. Sample 054 and Three Others and The Life and Death of Marilyn Monroe.
Recently, he has worked for Monsters of Rock Cruise, MLB Postgame Concerts, Bunbury Music Festival, Electric Zoo EDM Music Festival, Alive Music Festival as a FOH / Monitor / System engineer.
He received his bachelor’s degree in electronic engineering from the Ajou University, South Korea, and MFA in Sound Design from the University of Cincinnati College- Conservatory of Music.
Hankyu is a member of Korea Theatrical Sound Designer and Engineer Association, The United States Institute of Theatre Technology (USITT) and International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees (IATSE) Local 5.
