I have served as Provost at Southeast Missouri State University since July 2019. As provost, my primary responsibility is to lead the overall administration and promotion of academic excellence in the faculty and academic programs of the University. I also serve as a member of the University President's Executive Staff. A vital part of my leadership role is planning and implementing innovative instructional programs, building collegial consensus around a compelling vision for the future, and guiding development of creative initiatives within academic affairs. My responsibilities are associated with the learning environment at Southeast and include all academic programs within the five academic colleges, the Honors Program, Graduate Studies, the Kent Library and the extended studies division.

Prior to coming to Southeast, I served as Interim Provost and Chief Learning Officer at the University of Central Missouri (UCM) from January 1, 2018 – June 30, 2019. I also served as Vice Provost for Enrollment Management at the UCM, where my responsibilities centered primarily on student success initiatives to ensure the university delivered quality student services and achieved its mission and vision from recruitment through graduation.

Prior to that, I was chair of the Department of Nutrition and Kinesiology at the UCM, overseeing undergraduate and graduate programs and faculty members for a variety of programs and services. Before joining the UCM, I worked for Western Illinois University where I held faculty positions as assistant professor and associate professor, and my professional education experience also includes service at the University of Kansas and the University of Kansas Medical Center along with the University of Southern Maine. I earned my Ph.D. in Human Bioenergetics at Ball State University, a Master's in Exercise Physiology at Adelphi University, and a bachelor's degree in Exercise Science at Castleton University.
