Phillip M. Britt, of Kennett, Mo., was appointed by Missouri Governor Jeremiah “Jay” Nixon in September 2015 with a term expiring January 1, 2022. Mr. Britt currently works as the director of Aycorp Media in Malden, Missouri. He served as the drug court commissioner for the 35th Judicial Circuit of Missouri from 2002 until 2020, overseeing six separate treatment courts in the 35th Circuit, including the multijurisdictional Southeast Missouri Veterans Treatment Court. Prior to that, he was the elected state representative for the 163rd District in the Missouri House of Representatives from 1999 to 2002, and also served as an assistant prosecuting attorney in Dunklin and Pemiscot counties.

Mr. Britt received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in political science from Southeast Missouri State University and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law.

Mr. Britt is the past Chairman of the Missouri Supreme Court Committee on Treatment Courts. He is a past President of the Missouri Association of Treatment Court Professionals. Britt also serves on the Board of Directors of the American Legion Boys State of Missouri.

Mr. Britt served on the Southeast Missouri State University Presidential Search and Advisory Committee, when Dr. Carlos Vargas was chosen as the 18th president of the University.

Mr. Britt and his wife Bethany have two sons, Jackson and Dawson.
