Preferred

Preferred parking is student parking located near the interior of campus. Preferred parking permits are distributed at a low permit-to-space ratio to ensure availability of spaces for the permit holders. Those individuals applying for, but not receiving preferred parking will be issued a perimeter permit, unless otherwise noted on the application, and their name placed on a waiting list. Waiting list assignments are made only for those students who have purchased perimeter parking. After a preferred group is filled, any available spaces will be filled from the waiting list. Only one preferred parking assignment will be made and will be effective for the academic year.  Once it has been assigned, the permit is valid only for that preferred group and perimeter lots.

Preferred parking is sold in the Fall semester at a cost of $190.00 and will remain valid for the academic year. Any preferred parking issued during the Spring semester is sold at a reduced fee of $143.00.

Preferred Parking is divided into two classifications: Preferred Commuter and Preferred Resident.

Preferred Commuter

Preferred Commuter parking is available to those students who do not live in Residence Halls and who have completed 30 hours of course work.
