Amber Sumner Joined New Student Programs in November 2017. As the Senior Administrative Assistant, Amber is the main contact for the office, manages the department budget, and helps coordinate the FirstSTEP Orientation, Transfer Orientation, and Opening Week events and processes.
Originally from Highlands Ranch, Colorado, Amber attended New Mexico State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in History in 2013 and will graduate from Southeast Missouri State University with a Master of Arts in Higher Education Administration in November 2020. Her love for student success and helping students begin their journey into Higher Education is why she loves working for New Student Programs and in higher education.
Amber is active on campus and has held many positions in CTS and is the current Chairperson. She is a member in multiple campus committees as well.
In her free time, Amber enjoys spending time with her husband and her daughter. When she has the time, she enjoys reading and has a love for shopping.
