Men's Choral Festival - October

The Men’s Choral Festival at Southeast is a day-long festival open to tenor and bass singers in high school and community/junior college.  This festival will be alternating with the new Women’s Choral Festival and is dedicated to encouraging young men to sing!  Teachers may bring as many singers as they would like.  The day will be full of singing and fellowship culminating in a performance that is free and open to the public.  No preparation is required; singers will learn music on-site through sectionals and full rehearsals throughout the day.  Campus tours, lunch, snacks, and water will be provided as well as music and an excellent experience with our clinician!

Clinician Dr. Ryan Beeken proudly serves as Director of Choral Activities at Wichita State University, where he conducts the Concert Chorale, the Women’s ensemble, and teaches courses in conducting and choral literature.  Prior to his appointment at Wichita State, Beeken served as Director of Choral Studies at Indiana University of Pennsylvania where he conducted the Choral and Chamber Singers and taught undergraduate and graduate choral conducting. Dr. Beeken’s choirs have performed at State, Regional, and National Conventions of the American Choral Directors Association and for state and regional NAfME conferences as well. A frequent clinician and festival director, Dr. Beeken is regularly engaged as a conductor, clinician, and adjudicator throughout the United States; since 2013, his engagements include more than 50 All-States and Honor Choirs in seventeen states and many invited presentations for symposia across the United States and in Ljubljana, Slovenia.
