The Concert Band is a traditional wind band that features brass, percussion, and woodwind musicians in a large group setting. The ensemble performs a wide variety of wind band literature across several difficulty levels, presenting intriguing programs that serve to engage its members and audience alike.
The ensemble membership includes both music majors and non-music majors. Approximately fifty percent of the Concert Band performers are non-music majors. Many of the finest student musicians on campus participate in this ensemble. Interested students are invited to participate in this enjoyable musical experience. No audition is required.
The Concert Band rehearses on the River Campus and performs in the beautiful Donald C. Bedell Performance Hall on the River Campus. This ensemble meets during the Spring semester. Rehearsals are held weekly on Monday and Wednesday from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Typically, there are two performances shared with the Southeast Wind Symphony. Enrollment in Concert Band (MU391) is required for participation.
