If you would like to request a different date for your audition, you may do so when filling out our online application (see link below).
Please fill out our online Audition Request Form at least two weeks ahead of your anticipated audition date. If you wish to be considered
for a music scholarship, you must also have two references fill out our Scholarship Recommendation Letter and send it in to us via US Postal mail) at least 2 weeks prior to your audition.

Auditions for admittance as music major; scholarship auditions for departmental monies
Click on the link below to apply for a scholarship and schedule your audition. You may select one of our two official dates or schedule a personal audition to suit your needs. For band or orchestra auditions we suggest that you pick a Thursday so we can schedule a variety of activities for your visit including a personal lesson, sitting in with one of our major ensembles, and a chat with your major professors.
Solo or etude which demonstrates both technical and lyrical aspects of your performing ability. We also will hear scales and sight-reading.
Two memorized solos (contrasting if possible) from standard high school contest literature should be prepared for full consideration. One ‘music theater’ or ‘sacred’ song may be used. We will also hear pitch retention exercises and sight-reading. Foreign languages encouraged but not required. An accompanist will be provided if needed.
Two contrasting works which demonstrate both technical and lyrical aspects of your performing ability. We also will hear sight-reading.
