Larry Braun artistically explores digital photography through creative manipulations of natural subjects and rural scenes. Many of his landscape photographs have a quality that others describe as that of a traditional landscape painting. Braun uses high dynamic range processing and light exposure variations to cast an ethereal feeling into his photographs, emphasizing the color variations and textures found within the lights and darks. His goal is to have a viewer see the dynamic beauty in what are otherwise subtle and ordinary subjects.
Braun is a graduate of the New York Institute of Photography. He earned a Master of Business Administration from William Woods University and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Southeast Missouri State University. Larry worked as a chemist and results engineer in a power plant until he retired in 2013. He now devotes full time to his photographic passion.
He is a contributor to Getty Images. His work has been displayed in juried and solo exhibitions in southeast Missouri and southern Illinois.
The Crisp Museum is located in the Cultural Arts Center at Southeast Missouri State University’s River Campus, located at 518 S. Fountain St. in Cape Girardeau, Mo. For more information, call (573) 651-2260 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
