33rd Annual High School Art Exhibition "Exhibiting Excellence"

March 6-March 27, 2011

The Rosemary Berkel and Harry L. Crisp II Museum and Department of Art at Southeast Missouri State University hosts the 33rd Annual High School Art Exhibition: "Exhibiting Excellence," from March 6 to March 27, 2011.

The juried exhibition showcases art works created by junior and senior high school students in southeast Missouri and southern Illinois. A variety of mediums will be on display including painting, printmaking, drawing, photography, digital art, fibers, sculpture, and ceramics.

A reception for the artists in this exhibition will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, March 6. Awards will be presented at 3 p.m. Admission is free. This exhibit will run through Sunday, March 27.

"Each year, we see amazing works. The quality achieved by the High School students is impressive, and they show excellent use of their art skills, but some students even go beyond that. They can tell you about a personal connection to their piece, or what it is, they wish to convey through it," says Ellen Hahs, curator of education at Crisp Museum.
The exhibition juror will be chosen by Southeast's Art Department. Juror information will be updated, as it is determined.

The Crisp Museum is located in the Cultural Arts Center at River Campus, 518 S. Fountain St., Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Museum hours Tues.-Fri.: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., weekends: 1 to 4 p.m. For additional information email or call (573) 651-2260.
