CAPE GIRARDEAU, Mo., Feb. 5, 2014 – Due to icy conditions, Southeast Missouri State
University classes have been canceled and offices will be closed Thursday, Feb. 6,
and Friday, Feb. 7. Southeast’s regional campuses in Sikeston, Kennett and Malden,
Mo., will be closed Thursday and Friday as well. Southeast classes at the Perryville
Higher Education Center are canceled for Thursday and Friday, although Mineral Area
College classes taught at the Perryville Center will be in session as usual.
Southeast’s Facilities Management (FM) employees should contact their supervisor for work assignments over the next two days or with any questions they may have.
Brunch will open at 10 a.m. on Thursday and Friday in Towers and the University Center, with normal operations after 10 a.m. The River Campus Café and Subway will be closed through Sunday. Rowdy’s and Olive’s will operate on their normal schedules Thursday-Sunday.
Campus shuttles will not be in operation until Monday. The W.I.N.G.S. shuttle will operate on its normal schedule Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Hours at the Student Recreation Center-North and the Student Aquatic Center will be 5:30 a.m.-midnight Thursday and Friday, with normal hours on Saturday and Sunday. The Student Recreation Center –South will be closed through Sunday.
University Center hours will be 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Bookstore hours will be 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 10 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday.
Hours in open computer labs in Merick and Towers will be 8 a.m.-7 p.m. Thursday and Friday; and 8 a.m.-8 p.m. Thursday and 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Friday in the Kent Library Information Commons. The Information Technology Help Desk is operating 24 hours through the weekend.
The Campus Health Clinic will be open from 10 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Thursday and Friday.
The WP003 writing exam will be held as scheduled on Saturday. The MoGEA test for the College of Education on Friday will be held as planned.
The Clark Terry Jazz Festival at the River Campus will go on as scheduled on Friday.
Events at the Show Me Center this weekend will go on as planned.
Friday’s bi-weekly payroll will be available in employees’ accounts for those who have elected direct deposit. Students and temporary employees may pick up paychecks from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday in Human Resources in Academic Hall.
A curator’s talk by Dr. Joni Hand originally scheduled for Friday, Feb. 7, in the River Campus Art Gallery has been postponed till 4 p.m. Feb. 14. The talk will last from 4-5 p.m. with a reception to follow from 5-7 p.m. Hand is assistant professor of art history at Southeast and is curating “Works in Progress: Interdisciplinary Exhibition and Lecture Series,” which opened Feb. 3 in the River Campus Art Gallery.
