Physical Education program at Southeast Missouri State University is nationally accredited with the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). It is a K-12 program that prepares competent, reflective, and caring professionals to meet the demands of the 21st century. The program also has a Coaching Minor.
The program is built around the performance-based model, consistent with the Missouri Standards for Teacher Education Programs (MoSTEP) and the National Association for Sport and Physical Education (NASPE) standards.
The Physical Education program infuses technology into student experiences and learning. The program's new Motor Development Laboratory is equipped with a Stability Platform, a Photoelectric Rotary Pursuit, and other tools for measuring perceptual-motor abilities. Teacher candidates in the program also have hands-on experiences with various teaching analysis software.Degree Map
