The Southeast Missouri State University Athletic Training Education Program (ATEP) is strongly committed to providing both an excellent academic and clinical education for Athletic Training majors. The ATEP believes that the clinical experiences of a student should supplement a solid, but challenging, Athletic Training core curriculum. The core curriculum is based upon the required subject matter meeting CAATE Standards and with the 5th Edition of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA) Athletic Training Education Competencies.

Athletic Training Education Program
While the Department of Kinesiology, Nutrition, and Recreation is still educating undergraduate Athletic Training Students, the Athletic Training Program (ATP) has begun the process of transitioning to the Master’s Degree level. The Athletic Training Program will be accepting its last cohort of undergraduate athletic training students in the Spring of 2020. The application deadline is April 1, 2020. No new undergraduate athletic training students applications will be considered after that deadline. We are currently in good standing with the Commission on the Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE). If you have any questions regarding the undergraduate program or the transition to the Masters of Science in Athletic Training, please contact Dr. Kyle Schneider, Program Director of Athletic Training, at kschneider@semo.edu
