Stream is an Enterprise video service where people in your organization can upload, view, and share videos securely. With this internal video service, access can be limited to individuals, groups, or the entire organization.


Using Stream

Organization and Access

  • Channels: for organizational use when controlled access isn't needed.
  • Groups: for organizational use needing access control. (With teaching, groups is the better choice)
  • Can have Channels within Groups, making it accessible by only group members.
  • Uses Office 365 groups (from apps such as Outlook, Planner, Teams).
  • Each group has a mini video portal that highlights trending and new content within the group.
  • Private Groups = Only members can view videos, owners control who can post, and videos can be organized into Channels
  • Public Groups = Anyone in organization can join the group, owners control who can post, and videos can be organized into Channels
  • Content and Uploading

    Content refers to videos created by you, using a webcam, Zoom, Skype for Business, or other sources. If you have video acquired from other sources (not created by the instructor or students), follow the University's rules regarding the use of copyrighted works.

    Once you have your content created, it's time to upload. Videos can be uploaded (a) into your profile and shared with specific users within the organization, or (b) directly into a Channel or Group where you are an owner or member with uploading rights. After uploading, you can insert a link or embed the code into Moodle or Microsoft Teams.
