Moodle is Southeast Missouri State University's current supported Learning Management System (LMS) and is integral to the university's teaching and learning. On campus, online, and hybrid classes rely on the use of Moodle as a LMS. That said, it is standard practice to re-evaluate LMS options, particularly in light of the entrance of new LMS vendors into the marketplace, the consideration of recent shifts in market share for legacy vendors, and looking for open-source LMS solutions.
In March 2019, a Task Force was created to review the capabilities of the Moodle LMS in comparison to other leading LMS solutions in higher education. The campus LMS is a primary component of the student experience and facilitates teaching and learning at Southeast.
