International Education Week (IEW) is an opportunity to celebrate the benefits of international education and exchange worldwide. This joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education is part of our efforts to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences.

Come experience Southeast’s signature international student event! Southeast boasts students and faculty/staff from over 65 countries and many diverse cultures, which are highlighted at this event attracting over 700 attendees every year! Through exposure to different languages, food, music, dance, and fashion, attendees will appreciate and celebrate diversity. The CARPE DIEM event allows participants and attendees to easily interact with each other and learn more about their fellow Redhawks from around the world, thus forming stronger bonds within the University community.

A night for students to learn and play board and card games from all over the world, share stories, and create new friendships. We will provide the games, but feel free to bring others if you have one you'd like to share.
9:30am – 10:45am, Polytech Building Room 201
All are invited to come and listen to presentations made by the students in the international section of UI100 in which they compare and contrast various aspects of U.S. culture with their home country. This is a great chance for all to see U.S. customs and practices from a new cultural perspective, and also learn more about how things are done around the world!
6:30pm – 8:30pm, Marquette Tech Building (338 Broadway, Cape Girardeau)
Study Abroad participants are invited to join Cenet (Magellan Exchange) and Southeast Missouri State University in an International Education Week event in celebration of your achievement in international exchange. This event aims to highlight the valuable educational experience and recognize students’ willingness to expand their horizons. Refreshments will be provided.
12:00pm – 1:00pm, International Village Room 106
Enfu Li and Chunxia Jia will share information about their profession in higher education in their home country, and their perspectives on being Visiting Scholars at Southeast. Light refreshments will be served, but feel free to bring your own lunch.
3:00pm – 4:30pm, International Village Room 106
Join members of the International Students Liaisons Group for fun, casual, and guided conversations about the higher education experience around the world. This event is open to anyone who wants to learn, and all will have an opportunity to share their thoughts and experiences in small group setting. Coffee and light refreshments will be served.
Members of the Southeast community are encouraged spend their day on campus wearing clothes which are representative of countries and cultures around the world! Feel free to be creative, but also be respectful. In order to commemorate the dress up day, all are encouraged to gather for a group photo at the front of Academic Hall at 2 pm.
