Steps to Apply

ATTENTION!! 

  • MS Applied Computer Science (Main Campus) is no longer accepting Fall 2021 applications from international students not presently in the U.S.
  • The deadline for international students to apply for all other SEMO programs remains July 1.
  • All interested students affected by the application closure are encouraged to apply for one of our 2022 intakes
  • EXCEPTIONS: The following groups may still apply for admission until 4 pm, July 15 (U.S. CDT):
    • Students currently present in the U.S. with lawful status on a visa that allows for enrollment in a course of study
    • Students applying for the Intensive English Program August intake.  There is currently no deadline to apply for the IEP October intake.
    • Students applying for Southeast Online program

Apply to Southeast in 4 Easy steps

2. Pay the $40 application fee

3. Email your supporting documents

To ensure efficiency and timely processing, please try to include all required documents in one email (per student) and provide the student last name, first name and date of birth in the subject line.

Email international@semo.edu (or reply to the confirmation email you received after you submitted your online application) with a scanned copy of the following items:

Note:

  • Emailed test scores and transcripts are considered unofficial. 
  • Graduate students: See if your program requires additional items.
  • IEP students are not required to submit test scores.
  • Web-only students are not required to submit proof of finances. 
  • If you are studying in the US, please submit the SEVIS Visa Status Verification Form. This form is a verification of your visa status, and not a request to transfer your SEVIS record to us.
  • If you have standardized test scores (SAT or ACT), please submit the official test scores for placement purposes in English and Mathematics. Lack of official test scores may require you to take a placement exam.Kindly note that unofficial ACT/SAT test scores CANNOT be used for placement. 

4. Mail your official transcripts

Southeast can admit most first-time undergraduate and graduate applicants based on the submission of unofficial copies of their transcripts and test scores. However, official copies of all transcripts and test scores must be submitted prior to the deadlines listed below. Admitted students are not allowed to enroll in courses or claim scholarship benefits until all required official documents have been received and processed. February 1 IEP students starting in March
April 1 IEP students starting in Summer
July 1 Fall- August entry
September 1 IEP students starting in October
December 1 Spring- January entry

Note:
If you were admitted to SEMO before you received your final transcripts/certificate, you must mail to our office the official transcripts that you sent via email as well as your official final transcripts/certificates by the deadlines listed above.

Non-degree seeking students (example: visiting, IEP) are not required to mail your official transcripts.

The deadlines listed above are not applicable to transfer students. Transfer students must submit official transcripts for admission and transfer credit review.

Returning students do not have to pay the $40 application fee or submit official transcripts from SEMO. All other requirements still apply. Please email international@semo.edu for specific requirements.
