Dr. Blasdell joined the Department of Criminal Justice & Sociology as full-time faculty in 2013.  She also serves as Advisor for Alpha Phi Sigma, the National Criminal Justice Honor Society.  Before coming to SEMO, she was an Instructor at The University of South Florida St. Petersburg.  Prior to entering academia, Dr. Blasdell served as a Victim Advocate (for abused women and children) and later was employed as a Crime Analyst with the Illinois State Police.

When not working, Dr. Blasdell loves spending time with her four dogs: Liberty (Boston Terrier), Dempsey (Boxer/Lab/Pit Mix), Gunner (Boston Terrier), and Wrigley (German Shepherd Mix).  She likes to visit her family farm in Central Illinois as often as possible to go hiking, camping, ride her horse (Rose, a Missouri Foxtrotter), and sit by a bonfire.  Dr. Blasdell serves as a Volunteer in Corrections at Southeast Correctional Center and is a proud blood donor, having donated over 5 gallons of blood in her lifetime.  She is also an avid Chicago sports fan (Go Cubs!).
