Curriculum Vitae

Don't be afraid to talk to your professors in and out of the classroom. We want to help you succeed through your own efforts -- let us teach you how!

What area do you teach?

Geography

Education/Degree(s)

BA, Geography with minor in German, California State University, Stanislaus
MA, Geography, Louisiana State University
PhD, Geography, Louisiana State University

Your philosophy of teaching:

Teachers must help students to become global learners. Global learners recognize that their education extends beyond the walls of the classroom -- the world holds infinite possibilities for learning and an unlimited potential for case studies with scales ranging from the local to the global. Students learn best when they can relate a spatial pattern that occurs in a distant location to those in their own daily activity spaces.

Why did you decide to teach?

Education has the power to be transformative to someone's life (it was to mine) not only economically and socially, but intellectually and in terms of civic engagement.
