To be admitted to a graduate program in the Department of History and Anthropology, applicants must hold a baccalaureate degree. In addition to the criteria established for general admission to graduate studies the Department of History and Anthropology requires that all applicants meet the following departmental criteria:
Letters should be addressed to the Director of Admissions. All documents should be submitted directly to the Office of Admissions.
An applicant lacking any of the above requirements may, under certain circumstances, be admitted provisionally or on probation.

The Department of History and Anthropology has Graduate Assistantships that offer students the chance to develop their professional skills while receiving financial support via a stipend and a fee waiver. Preference is given to applicants with teaching experience and/or historic preservation experience. Deadlines are March 15 and October 15 yearly, but since Graduate Assistantships are generally held by awardees until they graduate, the assistantships are not always available yearly. However, the Department occasionally receives short-term Graduate Assistantships, so it is always worth putting in an application. Please be aware that if you are a potential new student, you also need to apply for program admission before a Graduate Assistantship can be awarded to you.Apply for Graduate Assistantship
