Spanish for the Health Professions

Southeast faculty have created three new introductory courses in Spanish for the Health Professions. These courses correspond with the regular Spanish development track but focus on the vocabulary needed in the Health field. These courses also combine readings that engage the students in discussions of cultural diversity with the goal of increasing the students' cultural competence, or ability to work with clients of varying backgrounds, focusing primarily on the Latino community. Students can receive retroactive credit. A minor in Spanish for the Health Professions is currently being created and will hopefully be available by Fall 2019.
