Jakob Pallesen is the Director of the Small Business & Technology Development Center
(SBTDC) program. His work is focused on developing and implementing programs to support
entrepreneurs and small businesses in the southeast Missouri region. He works with
business clients to help them develop their strategic business plan, conduct market
research, identify marketing strategies and opportunities, secure funding from banks
and investors, expand into international markets, and find the right resources to
support their long-term growth and success.
Before joining the SBTDC team, Jakob was a Project Coordinator at the Economic and
Business Engagement Center. This job included researching regional entrepreneurship
and economic development strategies, performing market research, and researching entrepreneurial
ecosystems. The core focus of this research was to provide evidence and support for
developing implementation strategies based on an entrepreneurship policy framework.
Jakob Pallesen earned a Bachelor of Science and Business Administration in Integrated
Marketing Communications in 2012 and a Master of Business Administration in 2014,
both from Southeast Missouri State University. Jakob is a native of Denmark, having
moved to Cape Girardeau in 2007.
