The Missouri Diversity Officers in Higher Education (MODOHE) will convene for our Fall Diversity and Inclusion Professional Development Day this October. The meeting will take place in the Summit Lounge of the J.C. Penney Conference Center, located on the University of Missouri–St. Louis campus.

Please peruse the program schedule of events in advance. Concurrent Sessions and Roundtable Discussions are designed to be participatory in nature, so we hope that you will engage the presenters with your expertise and knowledge.
Benjamin Ola. Akande, Ph.D. is Senior Adviser to the Chancellor and Director of the Africa Initiative at Washington University in St. Louis. As a Nigerian born American, he was appointed by Chancellor Mark S. Wrighton in March 2018 to strengthen and expand the University’s efforts in Africa. He assists in developing and implementing strategy in bringing people together to identify ways to expand and enhance activities that will be rewarding to students and faculty, and build on initiatives in Africa

Chief diversity officers, directors, managers and others responsible for diversity and inclusion efforts in higher education from colleges and universities across the state of Missouri.
There are several hotel options near the University of Missouri–St. Louis. UMSL is conveniently located close to the Lambert Airport, which offers hotel transportation shuttles as well as car rentals and access to St. Louis’ rapid transit systems. A list of local hotels can be found here.
The University of Missouri–St. Louis north campus is located approximately 10 minutes east of St. Louis Lambert International Airport. The MetroLink red line runs from the airport to Scott Airforce Base in Illinois. The UMSL North Station would be the closest station to the J. C. Penney Bldg.
If traveling by car, the campus is located on the Hwy 70 route between Hanley Rd. (exit 239) just west of the campus and University Blvd. (exit 240) just east of the campus.

Complimentary parking permits will be emailed to each registered attendee at the address provided during registration. Attendees may park in Lots A and B and the north garage. Accessible parking is available in Lot B. Please refer to the campus map for more information..
All attendees are asked to register here by October 9, 2018. There is no registration fee. Costs for the meeting have been covered by sponsors.
Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the Summit Lounge. The opening session will begin promptly at 9:00 a.m.
Complimentary meals will be provided for registrants and will include: a continental breakfast, lunch and an afternoon snack. Please indicate any dietary restrictions during the online registration process to insure accommodation.
Dress for this event is business casual. THe forcast calls for partly cloudy with highs in the mid to upper 70s. Please dress appropriately, and be mindful as the rooms can be chilly depending on the weather.

Wireless internet access will be available. Instructions will be given to all attendees on the day of the meeting.
As part of the event, we are encouraging you to bring your institutional swag, as we will be giving out swag all day long. Please provide your items at check in.
