Philip Edgecombe received his Masters of Fine Arts degree in Choreography from the University of Arizona. Mr. Edgecombe has been a company member with Hedwig Dances, the resident contemporary dance company at the Chicago Cultural Center, as well as Desert Dance Theater in Phoenix, Arizona. He has also performed internationally in Edinburgh, Scotland. Mr. Edgecombe has performed works by several nationally recognized choreographers including James Clouser, Douglas Nielsen, Jan Bartoszek, and Louis Kavouras. Mr. Edgecombe‘s choreography combines a strong physicality with intense theatricality grounded in contemporary work and he regularly choreographs original work for The Conservatory’s Fall for Dance and Spring into Dance concerts. His choreographic work has been performed nationally, and he was invited to present his choreography Incandescence at the 2011 Spring to Dance Festival presented by Dance St. Louis. Mr. Edgecombe is a certified advanced level teacher of the Giordano Jazz Dance Technique.
