General Commencement Information

Commencement will be Saturday, May 11, 2019 in the Show Me Center. There will be two commencement exercises.

Candidates for graduation, whether seeking associate, bachelor, master, or specialist degrees, will attend only one ceremony, based upon the college of your major. If you are not sure which college houses your major, please visit our website, At the bottom of the menu bar on the left side of the site, click on “Majors and Colleges.” Majors are listed in alphabetical order, with corresponding colleges to the right of each major.  NOTE:  Students who plan to be high school teachers participate in the college of their content area.  For example, majors in science, such as biology, will participate with the College of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics.

While we anticipate sufficient seating for all, we suggest that you invite no more than eight guests to be seated in the arena so that every candidate will be able to have some guests see them “live” as they cross the stage. If you have more people who wish to see you graduate, there will be an overflow area in the Show Me Center, the ceremony will be streamed live to the web (, and you can order DVD’s of the ceremonies. You may place your order via the DVD Order Form at, or at the ceremony, for a cost of $20, including shipping.

Guests and students who attend commencement are expected to be courteous to others by remaining in attendance throughout the entire ceremony.

The Show Me Center is a tobacco-free facility.
