At Catapult we are dedicated to providing Southeast students with access to the tools, equipment, and space needed to bring their business ideas to life.
SEMO Startups Learning Community
The Office of Residence Life, the Harrison College of Business and Computing, and Catapult Creative House have partnered together to bring the SEMO Startups Learning Community to our students.
It is open to any student who will be a sophomore and above during the academic year you are taking part in the community. You will have the opportunity to live in LaFerla Hall and take classes with your fellow community members. You can participate no matter what your major is and have the opportunity to connect with faculty in various disciplines. You will also have the opportunity to connect with local entrepreneurs in a variety of businesses.
Students in this community collaborate to bring a business idea from concept to implementation. You will spend the fall semester exploring ideas and weighing pros and cons before you settle on a business. You will develop a SWOT analysis and business model during this time. In the spring semester, you will initiate your plan and move into production and sales before liquidating the business at the end of the year.
You must apply to join. If you have questions, contact the Office of Residence Life at (573) 651-2274 or email@example.com.
Student Vendor Opportunities
Community Markets and Special Events
Catapult is a member of the downtown Cape Girardeau community, and we frequently participate in downtown events, craft fairs, and farmer’s markets. This participation provides students the opportunity to sell their products and services. It’s a unique experience for you to learn to set up and sell products off campus in a variety of settings. It also provides you with mentoring and networking opportunities with local entrepreneurs and community leaders.
