First thing I remember wanting to be “when I grow up” as a kid:
I wanted to be a veterinarian because I grew up with horses, dogs, and cats and thought it would be awesome to play with animals all day. I eventually figured out that’s not all a veterinarian does!
First “grown up” job:
Before helping students navigate their career journeys as a career counselor at the University of Missouri-St. Louis and now at Southeast, I worked as a licensed professional mental health counselor in agencies around Southeast Missouri.
I have a three-foot tall stuffed toy llama named Lenny. He is affectionately known as the “No Drama Llama” because one look at him and your drama seems to disappear. I’ve also been to 27(ish) National Parks. These facts are in no way related. J
Advice to Students:
Listen to the world around you, stay open to experiences, and learn to bend with the winds of change….because change will happen. And guess what…you will be just fine!
