Southeast Studio of Visual Art

An instructor shows students pottery

June 11-16, 2018

Ages 14 to college

The Southeast Studio of Visual Art is an exciting and intensive weeklong experience for artists. The academy will challenge students technically and artistically through a variety of courses including oil painting, ceramics, printmaking, and mixed media drawing taught by Southeast art faculty. Throughout the course of the week students will explore both two-dimensional and three-dimensional artistic mediums in studio-style classes while working in a university environment.

This experience offers artists the opportunity to discover new mediums and techniques on an individualized basis, as well as create art that can assist students in the creation of an artistic portfolio that may be used in university and scholarship applications. The studio experience culminates with each artist participating in an exhibition of their work on Saturday, June 16th, during the River Campus Summer Arts Festival.
