Printmaking

Printmaking in the Department of Art and Design at Southeast Missouri State University covers a breadth of processes ranging from the traditional core media of print including relief, intaglio, monotype, screenprinting, lithography, photosensitive processes, and contemporary mixed-media approaches. At intermediate and advanced levels, the printmaking specialization encourages students to utilize traditional and contemporary media of the reproducible image to create multidisciplinary images, objects, experiences, and spaces. Throughout all courses, students are instructed in green techniques, print editioning and curation, and the expansive possibilities of the print. The printmaking studio is located at CAC 035 with a darkroom for photosensitive processes down the hall. Printmaking has a satellite letterpress studio housed at Catapult Creative House, a center for arts entrepreneurship, where students can experience local history while learning about creative self-publication through letterpress techniques.
