The University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). The HLC is one of six regional institutional accreditors in the United States, providing support for institutions across 19 states in the North Central region. More information about the University’s HLC accreditation can be found here.
Record of Status and Scope - Statement of Affiliation Status
As part of its affiliation with the HLC, the University engages in an eight-year cycle of continuous improvement activities, called the Academic Quality Improvement Program (AQIP). The AQIP program is one of three pathways available to HLC-accredited institutions. Activities include Strategy Forums, Action Projects, Systems Portfolios, and Comprehensive Quality Reviews. More information about the AQIP cycle can be found here.
*We are no longer accepting proposals for AQIP Action Projects due to recent changes to the HLC AQIP Pathway.
Action Projects are integral to the AQIP pathway for institutional continuous improvement. Action Projects are short-term projects (usually about one year in scope) that address a priority area for the University. Periodically, a call for Action Project ideas is issued to which all staff, faculty, and students can respond. However, Action Project proposals can be submitted at any time using the forms and guidance below.
