What to Expect

Students earning an MBA in Healthcare Administration study all aspects of business, with a portion of your courses dedicated to business facets of the medical field. More specifically, you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Utilize the latest technology in production, controls, and communications.

Harrison College of Business & Computing

This program is housed in the Harrison College of Business and Computing. The College prepares students for the global marketplace. Alumni work for some of the world’s largest corporations to some of today’s most innovative startups. The focus is on creating and innovating, data and trends, supported by faculty mentors who themselves are leaders in business and computing.

Online Learning at Southeast

When it comes to your success, we do whatever it takes. Online learning at Southeast takes the same reputable college courses taught by Southeast faculty and makes them available anytime, anywhere.

Healthcare Administration Curriculum

The time it takes to earn a degree will vary based on factors such as dual enrollment, remediation, and summer enrollment. Students meet with an academic advisor each semester and use Degree Works to monitor their progress.

Regular Admissions

  • GPA on a 4.0 scale (overall or in the last 60 hours of college credit) multiplied by 200 plus GMAT equal to at least 1000 AND GMAT score of at least 500
OR
  • GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (overall or in the last 60 hours of college credit) with a Graduate Record Exam Score (GRE) of 147 for both Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning and Analytical Writing of 3.5 or higher. (When it is not possible to interpret academic eligibility by way of transcript, the graduate business program reserves the right to request further evidence of academic eligibility.)
  • Minimum grade of ‘C’ on all undergraduate foundation (prerequisite) courses.

Probationary Admission

  • GPA on a 4.0 scale (overall or in the last 60 hours of college credit) multiplied by 200 plus GMAT score equal to at least 1000 AND GMAT score of at least 430,
OR
  • GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale (overall or in the last 60 hours of college credit) with a Graduate Record Exam Score (GRE) of 144 for both Verbal Reasoning and Quantitative Reasoning and Analytical Writing of 3.5 or higher. (When it is not possible to interpret academic eligibility by way of transcript, the graduate business program reserves the right to request further evidence of academic eligibility.)
  • Minimum grade of ‘C’ on all undergraduate foundation (prerequisite) courses.

Students admitted on probation must complete their first 9 hours of course work, including at least 6 hours at the 600 level, with a grade “B” or better. Students not meeting this requirement are subject to dismissal from the program.

GMAT/GRE waivers may be requested under certain circumstances.

All undergraduate requirements for admission must be satisfied before enrolling in the MBA required core or MBA elective courses. Students without an undergraduate degree in business must complete necessary foundation course work.

International students applying with a three year degree must have their transcripts evaluated by an outside agency such as WES (www.wes.org) or NACES (www.naces.org) for equivalency.

sequence of coursework best suited.

All undergraduate requirements for admission must be satisfied before
enrolling in the MBA required core or MBA elective courses. Students
without an undergraduate degree in business may need to complete the
following required foundation course work**:

  • Principles of Accounting I or Graduate Business Accounting Essentials
  • Microeconomics or Graduate Business Microeconomics Essentials
  • Financial Management or Graduate Business Finance Essentials
  • Management Information Systems or Graduate Business Information Systems Essentials
  • Business Statistics I or Introduction to Behavioral Statistics or Graduate Business Statistics Essentials

Students must earn a minimum grade of “C” in all of the above classes.

**Proficiency in these areas may be demonstrated through any of the
following alternatives:

  • A CLEP or DANTES exam if available. Credit will not be given for these courses with a passing grade on the exam, but a passing score will indicate proof of course knowledge.
  • Applied knowledge of a given domain in the work environment. The extent to which relevant work experience demonstrates proficiency will be determined by the program director. Applicants who would like their work experience to be considered must submit a resume with their application.
