Accreditation The five professional mass communication options in the Department of Communication at Southeast Missouri State University have met the high standards of ACEJMC accreditation through a rigorous four-step review process that was conducted in 2004-2005. The professional mass communication options of journalism, advertising, public relations, radio and video production were accredited after completion of a five-year self-study completed in September 2004, a three-day site visit review by an ACEJMC team conducted in November 2004, review by the Accrediting Committee in April 2005, One of three decisions may be made in regard to a program’s compliance with the Accrediting Standards:
The Southeast program was found to be in full compliance in all five options. Thorough reaccreditation reviews will be conducted every five years, with reaccreditation reviews beginning at Southeast in 2010. Southeast’s mass communication program is one of only two in the state of Missouri Mass communication students can work in student media, including the Capaha Arrow and the campus radio station, |
