The Otto & Della Seabaugh Polytechnic Building houses the Department of Industrial and Engineering technology offices, classrooms and laboratories; the School of Polytechnic Studies Advising Center; the Dean of School of Polytechnic Studies administrative offices; as well as the Technology Resource Center. The following labs are located inside the Polytechnic building, and are available for student use.
PB105 - Computer Lab
This lab houses 32 PC's, and has many software programs available that are used in the programs offered by the Department of Industrial & Engineering Technology.
PB106 - Manufacturing Lab
This lab houses manufacturing machines and equipment, both manual and CNC (Computer Numeric Control) machines. Machines include Bridgeport Mills, Bridgeport Lathes, EDM machine, coordinate measure machine, and various plastics equipment.
PB107 - Automated Manufacturing Lab
This lab houses robotics equipment, as well as our state designated "Center of Excellence in Advanced Manufacturing."
PB108 - Materials Testing Lab
This lab houses strength testing, impact testing, torque testing, hardness testing, compression testing equipment, and a rapid-prototyping machine.
PB109 - Industrial Controls Lab & Industrial Power Lab
This lab includes energy management machines and processes, motor control processes, Hampton Trainers, and other industrial power process stations. This lab also includes programmable logic controllers (PLC's) equipment and hardware.
PB114 - Computer Aided Measurement Lab
This room houses theodolites and laser tracking equipment used for high-tech measurements.
PB202 - Multimedia Lab
This lab houses 30 PC's, and has many software programs available. This software is used in the programs offered by the Department of Industrial & Engineering Technology and includes: AutoCAD 2008, Adobe CS3 Package, Chief Architect X1, Microsoft Office 2007, and Autodesk 3ds Max 8. In this lab, students learn website design, multimedia and graphic design, and digital imaging and editing. (Coming soon, Maya software and advanced gaming design as part of the Computer & Multimedia Graphics program!)
PB203 - CAD Lab
This lab houses 28 PC's, and has many software programs available. This software is used in the programs offered by the Department of Industrial & Engineering Technology and includes: AutoCAD 2008, Adobe CS3 Package, Chief Architect X1, Microsoft Office 2007, and Autodesk 3ds Max 8. In this lab, students are taught architectural drafting, as well as 3D design and solid modeling.
PB204 - MAC Lab
This lab houses 16 MAC G-5 duel-monitor stations and 6 SGI's (sillicon graphic machines), and has many software programs available. In this lab, students are taught high-end multimedia and animation design, video editing, and audio editing.
PB210 - Telecommunications Lab
This lab houses communications equipment donated to the Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology by Falcon Communications. This lab also includes wireless networking equipment and network security training.
PB218 - Networking Lab and Electronics Lab
The Department of Industrial and Engineering Technology is a Cisco local and regional academy. This lab houses routers, hubs, switches and other networking equipment and processes. Also, in this lab students are taught AC and DC electronics processes, microcontrollers, oscilloscopes, and circuit board making.
