Student Organizations The Physics and Engineering Club is for students who are enrolled in physics classes or for those who have an interest in physics and engineering. You do not have to be physics major to join and there are no dues required. Activities include field trips to tour area schools and businesses. Meetings take place every other Wednesday at Common Hour (noon).
The Society of Physics Students is a professional organization designed especially for students who are interested in physics. You do not have to be a physics major to join. Our chapter is one of 550 active chapters across the country. Past activities of the Southeast chapter of SPS have included a trip to the Argonne National Laboratory in Naperville, Ill.
Sigma Pi Sigma is Southeast’s honor society for physics students. In order to join, you must have completed at least three semesters of full-time college work and at least three semester courses in physics that can be credited toward a physics major. Students who are not physics majors can be elected, provided they meet the standards and have demonstrated an interest in physics.
