Admissions

Requirements for Admission to the Communication Disorders program:

  • Declaration of Major – Students may complete the “Declaration of Major” form and be assigned an advisor within the Department of Communication Disorders at anytime after they have been admitted to the University and have begun attending classes.  This form may be obtained from the student’s current academic advisor or from the department office.  The declaration of major does not constitute admission to the program.
  • Admission Criteria – A student who has declared the major and wishes to be considered for admission to the undergraduate program must meet the following criteria:
    1. Complete a minimum of 30 semester hours of college-level courses with a minimum grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
    2. Complete the following prerequisite courses with a grade of "C" or higher: CD211, CD225, CD230 and CD340.  
  • Admission Procedure – For admission to the undergraduate program in Communication Disorders, the student should submit the “Application for Admission to the Undergraduate Program in Communication Disorders” form.  This form may be obtained from the student’s major advisor.
