Facilities

The Department of Human Environmental Studies is housed in Scully Hall.  Scully Hall was started in 1968 and completed in 1971.  The four-story, 95,000-square-foot building includes many classrooms, laboratories, computer labs, study lounges, and a food cart area.

An Instructional Resources and Technology Lab is located on the third floor and specializes in meeting the computer technology needs of education and child development majors.  The lab contains many reference materials, computer workstations, video equipment and equipment for making instructional materials.

Child development students have access to Southeast’s nationally accredited Center for Child Studies.  This center provides education services to families and children between the ages of six weeks to six years.  In addition, it provides students from multiple disciplines with observational and research opportunities for their academic programs.
