The Department of Art does not require portfolio reviews for admissions to the programs in the department.  Students seeking the bachelor of science degree in art education should visit the Department of Education Web site at http://www.semo.edu/education for entry requirements for all education majors. There are not requirements to declare the art portion of that major.  For the bachelor of art degree in art and the bachelor of fine arts degree. there are no entry requirements other than those to enter the University.  See the Web site for the Office of Admissions at www.semo.edu/admissions .

All art majors must complete the first five foundation courses before they confer with three professors for a foundation review to help the student select an art program and area of emphasis that focuses their goals and strengths as a creative artist.
