Southeast Missouri State University

Freshmen scholarships are awarded based on a combination of ACT or SAT scores and cumulative high school grade point average. Admitted students are automatically considered for academic scholarships. Information for the 2014-2015 scholarship program is below.

Value

Tuition and general fees for 30 credit hours per academic year and community style room with a 15-meal plan. The 2014-2015 value is $14,012.50 for Missouri residents or $19,345 for non-Missouri residents.

Eligibility

Achieve a 33+ ACT composite score or 1440+ SAT (critical reading + math) and have a cumulative GPA of 3.9 on a 4.0 scale.

Renewal

Renewable each year up to a maximum of four consecutive academic years. To renew, you must maintain a 3.5 cumulative grade point average in courses taken at Southeast and complete a minimum of 30 credit hours per academic year at Southeast. Southeast summer hours taken in the same academic year may be used to meet renewal criteria.

Southeast summer hours taken in the same academic year may be used to meet renewal criteria.

  1. Achieve a 24+ ACT composite score or 1090+ SAT (critical reading + math) and have a  cumulative GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale; or
  2. Achieve a 23+ ACT composite score or 1050+ SAT (critical reading + math) and have a cumulative GPA of 3.7 on a 4.0 scale

The scholarship value is the difference between out-of-state tuition and in-state tuition. The 2014-2015 value is $5,332.50 for 30 credit hours. It may be combined with ONE of the following scholarships: a $4,000 President's Scholarship, a $2,000 University Scholarship, or an $1000 Residence Life Leadership Scholarship.

Eligibility
  1. Achieve a 21+ ACT composite score or 980+ SAT (critical reading + math) and have a  cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; and
  2. Reside in a Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP) state including Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota and Wisconsin or in a neighboring state of Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee.

To renew, you must maintain a 2.75 cumulative grade point average in courses taken at Southeast and complete a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year at Southeast. Recipients will pay the in-state tuition rate. The 2014-2015 value is $5,407.50 for 30 credit hours. It may be combined with ONE of the following scholarships: a $4,000 President's Scholarship, a $2,000 University Scholarship, or an $1000 Residence Life Leadership Scholarship.

Eligibility
  1. Out-of-State Residents only.
  2. Achieve a 21+ ACT composite score or 980+ SAT (critical reading + math) and have a  cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; and
  3. Be the child or grandchild of a Southeast graduate.
Renewal
  1. Renewable each year up to a maximum of four consecutive academic years. To renew, you must maintain a 2.75 cumulative grade point average in courses taken at Southeast and complete a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year at Southeast. Southeast summer hours taken in the same academic year may be used to meet renewal criteria.

Value

$1000 applied toward residence hall fees.  May be combined with ONE of the following scholarships: a $4,000 Presidents' Scholarship, a $2,000 University Scholarship or the Midwest Achievement Award.

Eligibility
  1. Achieve a 18+ ACT composite score or 900+ SAT (critical reading + math) and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale; and
  2. Will live in a University residence hall; and
  3. Complete the optional scholarship questions on the online application for admission to demonstrate student involvement in multiple school or community activities for at least three years of high school.  The following activities, with the scholarship's required ACT and GPA, earn automatic qualification for the scholarship: Boys' State, Girls' State, HOBY, Missouri Renaissance program, Missouri A+ program completion, Eagle Scout or Girl Scout Gold Award.  Submit documentation of participation to: Student Financial Services, Southeast Missouri State University, One University Plaza, Cape Girardeau, MO 63701.
Renewal

Renewable each year up to a maximum of four consecutive academic years while living in Southeast residence halls. To renew, you must maintain a 3.25 cumulative grade point average in courses taken at Southeast and complete a minimum of 24 credit hours per academic year at Southeast.
