Courses & Programs

Southeast Online offers courses which use the internet and other technologies to enhance the learning experience.  Use our online course search to view the current offerings of online and blended courses, including blended webinars. Students with an active Southeast Key can view more detailed schedule information by using the registration search within My Southeast Self-Service. Course descriptions and pre-requisites are available in the Course Listing section of the University Bulletin.

Course Types

Online courses do not require face-to-face meetings and instruction occurs completely online.  Online courses are designated by the attribute “delivery-online” on the registration search and online course search web pages.

Blended courses use a mix of face-to-face and online meetings to deliver instruction.  Class meetings may be scheduled on a weekly, bi-weekly or monthly basis depending on the course structure.  Clicking the course’s CRN will show the meeting dates and times.

Blended courses may be lightly-blended, moderately-blended or highly-blended, depending on how many face-to-face meetings are required. In lightly-blended courses, the majority of instruction occurs face-to-face, while highly-blended courses may meet face-to-face only a few times.

Webinar courses use video conferencing software to create an interactive classroom via the internet.  Some webinars may be blended, but they always have some specific times when students must participate live. Students can log into a webinar class from anywhere as long as they have a high-speed internet connection, a web camera and a headset microphone. Because there is no specific attribute for webinar courses, click the course CRN to see when class meetings occur.

Online Programs

Southeast Online offers several online programs including undergraduate degrees, graduate degrees and certificates. An online program allows students to complete all degree or certificate requirements via the internet.  Students enrolled in online programs take all of their classes online; they may enroll in courses offered at other campus locations only in rare circumstances.
